Other World Computing (OWC) recently asked me if I’d like to write a guest post on their blog. OWC make SSDs and memory for Macs, as well as RAID solutions and various USB and Thunderbolt docks. I’m an OWC customer myself (check out my recent OWC Mercury Elite Pro Dock review), and have been for over a decade, so I took them up on the offer to reach their audience with some of my own experience as a creative professional. The topic I chose: Continuity Backups. If you don’t know what this phrase means, I think you need to read
I had a great time on the CBC Airplay show talking about photography with Mark Kelly, Alistair Maitland and Dave White. You can find it in all the usual podcast directories by searching for my name and “Airplay” or head here for iTunes and here for Google. You can also play it directly from the CBC website by clicking this link.

How to Enter Every person who clicks through to B&H using one of my links like this one, and then goes on to make a purchase, will be entered into the draw for the $150 gift certificate
Since moving to the Yukon a few months ago I have become involved with the local Yukon photography festival, the First Light Image Festival which takes place on April 27th and I’m happy that Shutter Muse is a sponsor of this great event. In the run up to the festival, we’re running several photo contests and some of the prizes are incredible! For example, first prize in the Open Contest is a Sony A7III kit with a 28-70 kit lens, as well a PhotoRepublik Carbon Fibre Rundle Tripod, an F-Stop backpack and a $100 gift card for TheCameraStore. Of course
Today I’m packing my bags to fly south to Vancouver from the Yukon. I’ll spend a couple of days running some errands around the city and catching up with some friends and then I’m taking a series of three different ferries to end up on Hornby Island where I’ll be freediving with sea lions for a few days. Hornby Island is a small island in the Straight of Georgia, between Vancouver Island and the British Columbian mainland. I have been making regular visits to Vancouver Island for a while now and it’s easily one of my favourite wildlife photography destinations.
