January 2021 – Winter in Dawson City and Tombstone

One of January’s highlights was a trip to Dawson City. I spent some time gathering aerial images of the snow-covered city, as well as capturing a few winter scenes around local streets. Dawson always delivers the colour and the character to make some interesting shots!

Winter in Tombstone

No trip to Dawson City would be complete without spending some time in Tombstone Territorial Park. On several occasions I made the drive at dawn, hoping to capture some winter wildlife. Sadly, there were very few wildlife sightings on this trip, but I have learned long ago that a photographer should not get too tied to one plan! Instead, I changed gears and captured some interesting landscape images that are certainly welcome in my growing Tombstone archives. Early morning winter light in the Yukon is hard to beat, so long as you can stand the cold!
