Whilst this story pails in comparison to the severity of many of the other problems Japan is facing right now, those of you waiting for some of the newer Canon lenses are going to have to wait a little longer. Canon Launches the 600D / T3i Digital SLR

Canon has today launched a new consumer SLR called the 600D (t3i) which sits directly below the 60D in their product lineup. The specs of the camera are an incremental step up from the old 550D but a few ergonomic changes have been made and the vari-angle swiveling LCD that we saw on the 60D has also made an appearance. Phase One Announces 80 MP Digital Back

Phase One has released information on a new line of digital medium format backs today. The new backs do not replace the P+ lineup, but sit above it as a higher level. The 40, 60 and 80 megapixel backs feature several innovative new features like USB3 connectivity, 290 mil ppi high res LCD screen , Liveview and touch screen capabilities to name just a few. $43,000 is a high price (for the IQ180) but this looks to be the best featured digital back available yet.
