I believe my experience capturing cars in dynamic motion, along with over a decade shooting commercial campaigns for the world’s leading ski industry brands, 15+ years living in the Whistler valley, deep knowledge of the challenges of shooting in winter environments, and a thorough understanding of the project and the client’s vision, through my pre-production work with director Nick Schrunk, puts me in a unique position.
Having worked as a 2nd AC on several commercial film shoots, I’m also aware of on-set protocols, which has given me great insight into the potential challenges that might be encountered while trying to capture still images alongside the film crew.
I would use a small footprint approach to this project to remain invisible to the rest of the production, drawing on my experience capturing live extreme sports events for clients like Red Bull. Camouflaged, remotely controlled cameras would allow me to capture multiple angles simultaneously, maximizing the still image possibilities from each scene during a tight shooting schedule while minimizing my on-set impact.
If it interests the client, behind-the-scenes images of the production will be an additional goal.
