Judging by all the rave reviews of this camera from many photographers perhaps I should just go for it. Seeing as you have been using this camera in sub zero temperatures with little drain on the battery it could be just right for me when trekking in the mountains and away from power sources to recharge. The low light capability and quality is also going to be of benifit when shooting in those scenarios where its dark and I can't use a tripod - monastery interiors etc. Again, thanks for posting your hands on impressions - so valuable.
