Whilst attending PhotoPlus Expo recently I had the chance to sit down with National Geographic photographer David McLain and his business partner Jerome Thelia to talk about their recent short The Calling which was shot entirely with Sony’s new full frame DSLR, the A99.
Please head on over to ProPhoto Coalition to read that one. This video is an absolute MUST SEE. Simply gorgeous ! The A99 looks to me to be the new DSLR video king.
Quite simply the number of cameras announced this week is mind boggling. Over on ProPhoto Coalition I have written a summary of what I consider to be the important ones broken down into bite-sized chunks.

Over at ProPhoto Coalition I have posted an article dealing with my latest Drobo problems and why I have come to the end of the road with these products. Repeated hardware and software issues have left me with no reason to continue using them. If you own a Drobo , or if you have considered owning one then I would encourage you to head on over and take a read though the article. I take no satisfaction in writing this, Drobo have been a great company to deal with and have exceptional customer support but they just don’t have a reliable product to back it up with.
Over on my blog at ProPhoto Coalition I have written a post about capturing great images of meteor showers. I’ve already shared one of my recent Perseid Meteor photos here but now this is a chance to find out how to make images like this yourself! Please head on over to the post to have a read.
Over on my ProPhoto Coalition blog I have written a tutorial on getting great panning images. My examples are motorsports based but you can apply the technique to many types of sports and also wildlife and street photography. Please head on over and take a look at the post!
Over at ProPhoto Coalition I have written up something about the Enstein flash system and why and how I have been using it for the past year. I know a lot of people have been asking for my feedback on this particular product. Please head on over to read my thoughts.
Over on ProPhoto Coalition I have expanded my thoughts on Canon’s future plans having seen the new EOS-M camera.
Please head on over to take a look.
