I've been on the lookout for a small point and shoot for daily use when it's a hassle to bring an SLR.
Just wanted to say that I'm no doubt that my choice is leaning towards the S90 after following your blog, and reading your recommendations :-)

Heads up, I'm finding alot of inspiriation from your photos.

Regards,

Remy Eik

Hey Dan , i could suppose that :)

actually sometimes i do the same , not because i m so pro as you and i m not cotroll my composition so well as you , but in dark conditions when i m not sure about AF i m just focusing on other brighter point in similar distance and wait for rider ,
anyway great thanks for reply , i ve just started worrying that the 7d is not the one i should dream about ;))

so now i can t wait for the shots from trip , and maybe if you have a lil time woithout shooting pics you ll try some movie features with your new 1DMKIV , especially slow-motion with skiers could be sa awesome . now you are one-man photo-video company with great image quality ;))

cheers .

Hi Arthur,

I never use the 5dMKII for any sort of servo AI tracking. In my limited experience with it on those situations it is not that good. But then it is not designed to be used for photography of that type anyway. The way I use it is with the central focus point (always the most accurate) in one shot mode. I simply focus on the point in the scene where I wish the skier to be when i take the shot, then i recompose for the composition I would like. Wait for the skier to get to that point and CLICK, FLASH ! For one shot focussing I have always found it to be exceptionally accurate.
