Well so far after a few days i'm just in love with the f4. My pack feels so much lighter and has so much more room in it. Even the little things like the fact that i can store the lens vertically in my Think Tank Airport International bag when traveling. The lens is also at least as sharp as my 2.8 and I suspect a little sharper so no complaints there. I picked up an 85mm 1.8 yesterday to fill that wide aperture portrait gap and whilst i'm not 100% enamored on the build quality of non L lenses it is ridiculously sharp. Certainly sharper at 2.8 than my old 70-200 was so I think i'm onto a good thing here.
